Each of us is uniquely created by God for His purpose. Discovering that purpose can be challenging. The S.H.A.P.E. assessment — made popular by Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church — is a tool created to help you better understand God’s purpose for your life and the kind of person he created you to be.
This assessment covers five different areas of your life, helping to give you a well-rounded picture of who you are, how you are created, and how all of these factors point to your God-given purpose. The five areas covered in this assessment are:
Spiritual gifts are special abilities distributed by the Holy Spirit to every believer according to God’s design and grace for the common good of the body of Christ.
What do you love to do? This section dives into your passions. Your heart is a God-given desire that compels us to make a difference in a particular ministry. The fact that each of us cares deeply about some things more than others is by design.
What are your natural talents and abilities? What training, skills, and/or education do you have? You can use these abilities to do ministry and bring glory to God.
Better understanding your perspective, how you interact with others, and how you interact with the world around you can help you better understand how you best function in ministry, and help you discover the roles that are the best fit for you.
God can use your life experiences for His purposes. What experiences do you have that have molded you into who you are today?
