Fighting Fair

The way we engage conflict, argue, and fight with our spouse has a HUGE impact on the health of our marriage.

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

Fighting is a normal part of any human relationship, particularly when we get comfortable enough to really be ourselves with another person. How are you fighting with your spouse or those closest in your life? Are you fighting in a way that helps your relationship grow or just trying to get your way? Are you listening? Are you careful with your words? Are you easily angered? What needs to change?

As you pray, take time to listen to God. Ask him to show you how to fight fair. Ask Him to help you forgive and seek forgiveness from those you’ve hurt — particularly your spouse.
