READ ROMANS 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
We all have times when the brokenness of our world leaves us feeling empty and weak. In these moments, it can be very tough to pray. We don’t know what to say or how to say it. The Apostle Paul wrote that in moments like this, we need to allow the Holy Spirit to speak for us. In our weakness, God knows our hearts and minds and listens to the mind of the Spirit on our behalf.
If this is a season of pain or weakness for you, are you allowing the Spirit to intercede for you? If this is not a season of pain or weakness, who is the Spirit leading you to pray for today?
Don’t forget to read Romans 9:1-12:8 to prepare your heart and mind for the sermon this upcoming weekend.
